Water Damage and Mold Repair in El Cajon

In El Cajon, water damage often comes from equipment that works hard in the heat: air conditioning condensate lines, water heaters in garages and attics, and evaporative coolers. All Pro Contractor rebuilds El Cajon homes once the water is stopped and the structure is dried.

Water damage in El Cajon homes

AC units run for months in El Cajon summers. A clogged condensate line or a cracked drain pan in the attic can soak ceilings and insulation slowly before anyone notices a stain.

Slab leaks are common in older homes with copper lines under the slab. Rerouting the plumbing through walls or the attic is often the better long-term fix than breaking out the floor.

Hot, dry conditions help materials dry quickly, but they also hide problems. Confirm with moisture readings that walls and slabs are dry before new finishes go in.

Mitigation first, then the rebuild

Water damage repair happens in two stages. First comes mitigation: stopping the source, extracting water, removing damaged materials and drying the structure, along with mold remediation if mold has grown. That work is done by a water mitigation or mold remediation specialist.

All Pro Contractor handles the second stage: reconstruction. Once the area is dry and cleared, we rebuild what was removed and bring the space back to a finished, usable condition.

What an El Cajon rebuild usually covers

Leaks from attic equipment and under-slab pipes each leave a different kind of repair behind.

  • Ceilings, attic insulation and paint after a condensate or drain pan leak.
  • Slab patching and new flooring after a slab leak or reroute.
  • Walls, platforms and closets around a failed water heater.
  • Lower cabinets and countertops in kitchens and bathrooms.
  • Baseboards, trim, doors and casing.
  • Plumbing and electrical repairs related to the damage, through licensed trades.

Working with your insurance claim

If you have an insurance claim, share the adjuster's scope, photos and any mitigation reports with us. That helps us estimate the rebuild accurately and point out anything the scope missed. You remain in charge of your claim; we provide a clear written estimate for the reconstruction work.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is it better to repair a slab leak or reroute the pipe?

If the home has one isolated leak, a spot repair can make sense. If the copper under the slab is aging, rerouting supply lines through walls or the attic avoids repeated floor demolition and future leaks. A plumber can test the remaining lines to help you decide.

How quickly can mold grow after a leak?

Mold can begin to grow within 24 to 48 hours on wet materials. That is why fast drying matters and why mitigation should start as soon as possible after a leak is found.

Do you do water extraction or mold remediation?

No. All Pro Contractor handles reconstruction after a mitigation or remediation company has dried and cleared the area. We are happy to start the rebuild estimate while mitigation is still underway.
